My home page sidebar disappeared?!

  • Everything was running smoothly until I decided to update wordpress, update all my plugins, and add the plugin: subpages extended, and I deleted the popularity contest plugin. Ok… so first off the featured content gallery no longer worked, but I was able to fix that through researching the forums.

    The only problem that remains is that the sidebar has disappeared from the homepage- but remains in perfect working condition on all other pages. I posted a new post last week without any problems. The homepage sidebar only disappeared after today’s changes- listed above.

    I noticed that the bottom of the homepage has a partially visible box labeled POPULAR, with a fatal error in it. I’m not a coder, just a novice blogger. I should have never made so many changes at once.

    PLEASE can someone help me?

    My page is: http://www.RighteousMuscle.com

    If you think you can help please e-mail me at [Email removed]

    Thanks!

    @esmi

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    @alchymyth

    it seems that the Popularity Contest (?) plugin is deactivated/deleted/broken.

    try to activate/repair the plugin, or remove the corresponding code
    (something with akpc_most_popular() ) from index.php of your theme.
