Support » Theme: Pinnacle » my header ( banner) or whatever you call it

  • Ok, I was given instructions by Kadence themes and I really wish I knew who dared give me the WRONG instructions!!!

    Now My Banner is gone off my front page.
    I Already realize that because that I have the free version that my banner cannot be on every page. I GET IT!!!

    Here were the instructions:
    You had added your image as the background for the page title and also as the logo. Remove it from the logo in your theme options > site header.
    3. the white line you see if the divider for the header and your page title. You can remove (hide) by going to the theme options > site header. Scroll down to your transparent header options and make the border color “transparent”

    NOW The WHOLE BANNER IS GONE. I added it back but NOT SHOWING!!! The BANNER is My Picture banner I created. I followed The #3 statemment here.

    Now, Can I please get step b step instructions for getting it back with no logo on top of it. and no Line through it!!

    Hi! Very sorry for your struggle. I can assure you it would never be out intention to point you in the wrong direction. I pulled up your site from a previous thread and I can see your header image on the homepage. Have you tried clearing your cache? What exactly are you seeing?

    Hey Hannah,
    The Banner is finally there again because I just sat and played with it for another hour or so.
    I clean my cache often and sometimes a couple of times a day.
    Now, My only dilemma is the menu and the (Title of the page?) is right inside the banner and I need the banner below it.

    You had given me a video regarding that (although it must’ve been for a paid version) and I cant find it.

    Please give me that video again or supply me with instructions.
    Thank you

    Hey,
    Must have a miss-understanding.

    You can certainly set your sitewide background in the theme options > page title. There you set the background image for the “Page Header Default Background”.

    All that said. You seem to want something that is different because you are wanting the menu and page title to be above your image? It’s hard to know exactly what your going for from these forums but it does sound different from the demo?
    http://themes.kadencethemes.com/pinnacle/

    If you are wanting something different from the demo then I might suggest you try our Virtue Theme. There are options in it to have a sitewide banner that displays below the menu and logo.
    https://wordpress.org/themes/virtue/

    Else if I am still misunderstanding what you want please forgive me and can you explain further? You can go into the theme options > site header and turn off the “transparent header option”

    There is a video here that talks about the page title: http://www.kadencethemes.com/page-header-pinnacle-premium/

    Thank you. I fixed the problem watching the first Video you posted. But Now to change the blue to white? lol

    See what I mean here: http://www.MichelleStefferson.com

    1.The Page title way at the top is in a blue strip. I want it white.
    2. and the “Michelle Stefferson Network Marketing Leader words in Black
    And 3. Make The Michelle Stefferson Network Marketing Leader smaller

    (@hannahritner)

    1. You can set the header background in Theme Options > Advanced Styling.

    2. That’s your Sitename Logo Font. You can set in Theme Options > Logo Options.

    3. You can adjust the sizing from the same place ^^^.

    Hope that helps!

    Hey Hannah.
    Can you JUST give me directions on how to change the blue background to white.
    I dont want instructions on the font. unless you are telling me how to change the color.
    Any other instruction will confuse me.

    Looks like you have a white background? Did you figure this out?

    Yes, I have figured it out. It seems to take a while to propagate which is frustrating because I dont have much time to wait.
    If I can see the changes in real time while I’m doing it. It would be helpful. This way While I’m making changes, I’ll know if I’m doing it right.

    BIG QUESTION HERE:
    I have upgraded to paid version.
    I cant seem to find where I can change and add categories???
    Crazy stuff.
    Please give me step by step instructions.

    ALSO:
    I need to make sure my email notifications go to another email address.
    How do I do that for this forum?

    Yes, I have figured it out. It seems to take a while to propagate which is frustrating because I don’t have much time to wait.

    That would be caused by a caching plugin. Turn off all caching on your site and you won’t have to wait. You are the only one that can control the plugins on your site.

    In your wordpress admin go to > post > categories. And there you can create a new category.

    Scroll up to the top of this page where you see “forums”.

    On the right it says welcome, your name and after there is a link. Click on that and edit your profile.

    But if your using the premium theme you should use the support forums here: http://www.kadencethemes.com/support-forums/forum/pinnacle-theme/

    ok great how do you turn off the cashing plug in???
    I dont believe I have that plug in

    YOu said: Turn off all caching on your site and you won’t have to wait. You are the only one that can control the plugins on your site.

    mich08212,
    You’re using W3 Total Cache. From Appearance > Plugins go into the plugins settings and turn off the caching. Does that make sense?

    Thank you Hannah. I have deactivated the plug in.

    I am using Pinnacle free.
    Where can I set the page title margin/padding/however you call it?
    On the homepage it is totally clear, I have found the option in Theme Settings.
    On the subpages, blogpost etc – I need more space from above and from below, as the header picture matters. Where can I set this?

    Temporarily I increased the line height for Heading 1 and Page Subtitle so I have the amount of space I need but I would prefer the title and subtitle close to each other and the space to be below and above. Thanks in advance!

    Hey,
    You can use css like this:

    .page-header {
        padding-top: 60px;
        padding-bottom: 60px;
    }

    Just add in your theme options > custom css.
