 * I think I am confusing myself.
 * Do my-hacks take the place of includes, such as a random quotes include, or an
   include of webrings listing?
 * I think I might be making things more complicated than they need to be.

 * my-hacks.php is a legacy back to before WP had plugins. You could use the my-
   hacks to pull in information in the form of other includes, but then you might
   as well just use the includes where you need to.
