My first wordpress site, need some one in the know

  • Hay guys, totally new to this forum.

I want to create a website where I can post my own music, too long to explain 🙂

I’m an Architect and just can’t work in the silence, so I want to create a blog type of website and post all my musci and podcasts there.

Ok, so. I have a template. I was making one in photoshop but then found a template that was exactly like my idea. The file has so many scripting documents that I don’t even know what to change or keep, so I need some one to maybe explain what I need to do or can edit the files for me, simplify them, i’m sure that half of the stuff on there I don’t even need.

Here is the theme I’m using: http://www.themezilla.com/themes/launch/

And all I want is for the left contents column to be a blog and the right contents column is where I can post my music, using embed codes most likely.

So can some one give me a hand with this coding stuff?? 🙂

Thanks to anyone who feels like helping a newbie to get in the know/

It’s not that easy to modify theme layouts – so if you don’t know any HTML/CSS and WP, I would not recommend trying it yourself until you’ve gotten more familiar with WP and coding. See if you can find an existing theme that has the layout you want.

As for the theme you are using, unfortunately, we can’t help with it here as these forums only support themes from here:

I’d actually suggest you try to find one that you like from the above – or use one that has support from the developer/vendor. This might also be helpful:

One other thing to know about before you start changing things is that you should never modify theme files directly — as your changes will be erased when the theme is updated. Rather use a child theme:
