Hello keithfmt3. This should be an easy fix.
It looks like you’re using a low resolution image that the ‘featured image slideshow’ is scaling to fit. Can you try a different (larger) image that is exactly 520×245?
By the way… great choice on the Hueman theme. Looks really sharp.
Thanks lorbach – your advice has me half way there. It seems like high res photos are doing the trick on most of the posts. I do notice that if the photo is a close-up, the theme still only displays part of the photo. Please check my homepage again to see what I mean in full detail. I am wonder if I could possibly re-size or crop the photo to look somewhat normal. The photo is not displaying faces, instead focusing on chin and chest area of the subject.
I love the way the high res photos are looking for the non-featured posts. The ones that aren’t super close ups look fantastic. I am liking this theme more and more!
Lorbach – I may have it figured out. It seems if I upload a photo under 2MB then it randomly stretches. Anything over 2MB re-sizes and displays correctly. Thanks again for your help. I am going to have a blast getting this site going!
Glad to hear it. Come back and let us know how the site is coming.
Happy WPing!
Is it possible to have low res images display properly in the event the original is not available? I feel there will be times where I need to pull a photo from Google Images, they are usually small in size….
Using full-size images is always preferred… and will yield the best result.
Happy WPing!
hi lorbach,
I hope i can jump in here and just ask you how i can substitute my own thumbnail pic for the little monster with antennae that currently represents me. The “edit my profile” sections of WP support and the WP dashboards don’t seem to have a pic upload option.
Many thanks,
Vivek
Click the “View your profile” link on the top of this page. Then click “Edit” in the upper right. I think you need a Gravatar account to change your image.
that worked, thanks lorbach – appreciate it, vivek
