I have had very few problems with your plugin or add-ons, but now I am having a really strange one that I haven’t encountered before. I’m hoping you can help.

First, let me explain how we set up our sites for development:

We create a new account on our c-panel, then we enter the correct domain on the account. Once we have completed the site, we redirect the name servers to the new site on our server. We have done this to other sites that use your plugin and had no issues until now.

Here is the problem we are having now:

After redirecting the name servers to the new site, the entire site is up and running just fine except the page we have your event calendar on. It is no longer displaying the calendar.

The events are still there and the pages used to display the calendar are shown in the settings like they should be. (I use the page names that you set up as default).

I have re-saved the permalinks, uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin and gone over all the settings, but I cannot figure out why the calendar does not show anymore.

Here is the URL to the page that is supposed to display the calendar: http://clearwaterbombersinc.com/events/

Can you please help me with this problem.

    Thanks,
    Kat

    Howdy Kat,

Thanks for the clear explanation of your issue. Very helpful.

Have you tried changing the URL in WP Admin > Events > Settings ? It’s possible that changing it to something like “events-temp” will cause it to show on the new URL, then changing it back might fix. If that doesn’t work, does switching to default permalinks cause the calendar to show? With default permalinks the URL for the events page will change, but you can get the new URL from the admin bar Events drop down.

    Cheers!

    Hi Brook,

It seems to be a permalink problem. What I have discovered is that if I make the calendar have parent status in the calendar page, it displays as it should, but if I give it child status, nothing makes it show up. If it has a child status, but I remove the parent page slug from the url, the calendar appears.

So if I want the calendar nested under a main menu item, I have to use the menu manager only.

    Does that make sense? Lol!

I am not gonna to lie, that really doesn’t make sense to me. 😀 It sounds like you are using a special feature your theme adds. I probably have not used this theme before and thus haven’t seen the feature.

Regardless, you found the culprit! That’s exciting. Does the work around you described solve the issue well enough?
