# My comments dissapeared…

 * Hi.
    I don’t know how but my comments disapeard… They are still visible on disqus
   account but are not visible on my site (and they were visible earlier…). Can 
   anybody help me? I already did a reset and reinstall, but nothing changed. Here

 * I’m curious as to why this happened too. I noticed that the check box under discussion
   had the “allow comments” turned off. I had to make sure the check box is checked.
   Now I am seeing how many posts have comments turned off. Doesn’t make sense why
   this happened as discussion wasn’t even enabled in my screen options.

 * I will also say that you need to make sure Settings -> Discussion Settings ->“
   Allow people to post comments on new articles ” has the check box. For some reason
   I didn’t, not sure when that was changed or how.
 * edit – I want to note that the comments were disabled 5/16. So wonder if that
   is the same for anyone else.

 * But my settings are ok, people can comment and their new comments are visible.
   The older ones are not…

 * Make sure the setting “Automatically close comments on articles older than __
   days” is not checked.
 * Under Settings -> Discussion.
 * if that is not the problem, then hopefully someone else can provide a working
   solution.
