 * Ok..
    This is quite off the topic.. I’m a cs student, and graduating this June.
   I recently grabbed a part time contract job, building a wordpress based blog(
   social) website. And the problem is that my client is dumb, he is a student too,
   but everytime we have a meeting, his request keeps change(getting more complex).
   He doesn’t understand mostly how wordpresss.org works. The project is at like
   85%, but this guy keep wants something added and his budget is $500.
 * What I’ve done is new wordpress theme(with bunch of jquery, and google map api).

   Is this really worth only $500?

 * This isn’t really the place to discuss job costings but as a general piece of
   advice, always draw up a detailed job spec before beginning a project and get
   the client to formally agree to it. Yes – it’s boring & a pain but it can save
   you a lot more pain further down the line.
 * Also – always draw up a contract (even a simple one that just references the
   project spec) and get the client to sign it or formally agree.
 * On large projects (eg over $200), get 50% of the cost upfront.
 * If the client tries to add anything on, refer back to the spec and suggest that
   he adds his new request to a wishlist for “phase 2”. Stick to the spec like glue.
