My child theme has stopped me from editing certain things

    Since i have created a child theme on my website (http://emmaljohnson.com/mackinnons), it will no longer allow me to change the colour of the menu or social icons. I go to customise and change the colour and it stays exactly the same.

    I am also unable to add a Google Map, even when using the contact form template. I have tried several different plugins for this also. This may be a API issue, but I am well and truly stuck.

    Could someone help please?
