My categories keep dissappearing

    My categories keep disappearing. Sometimes it is the subcategory children that disappear below a category for no reason. If I look at my category widget, One category and children can be fine, but another category is gone…but its children are there. If I go to the category manager the children are gone – until I go to quick edit, and press “update category”. Then everything comes back to normal.

    This happens a lot. Any ideas? Happened before I installed most of my plugins too.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?
