My blog died during a WP update

  • I was having trouble loading photos. I saw on my dashboard the there was an update for my version of WP so I told it to update. After a few minutes nothing was happening so I hit refresh. Now my blog is dead. I can’t access the admin area at all and I haven’t backed it up for a few weeks. I have the blog backups that it emails me, but I haven’t backed up from my FTP. [You need both, right?]

    It said this:

Fatal error: Class ‘wpdb’ not found in /home/ruthles1/public_html/blog/wp-includes/load.php on line 336

I replaced the wp-db.php file with the one from my last backup.

    Now it says this

Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_blog_installed() in /home/ruthles1/public_html/blog/wp-includes/load.php on line 429

    What should I do?
