My admin log-in page lists in google

  • Hello, thanks everyone who was helpful in getting me started. I’ve actually got a few readers already, even though it’s a bit scary (and amusing) to see what they were searching for.

I noticed on google, if I search for my url, such as “myweblog,” the first thing that comes up is a link to … wp-admin/index.php, which is my admin page. Is this something I should be concerned with, even though I have a password? Is there a way to prevent this page from being indexed?

    Neil

  • thanks, moshu. I’ll see if I can figure it out. It’s not that terribly important to me, but it does seem odd that everyone has the same user name to wordpress, so the only protection is the password.

Nope, not I. I imported my posts from MovableType a year or so ago with WP1.2. It created an account called Satoshi in addition to the admin account. I took what few admin posts there were and put them under Sato’s name, upped Sato’s user level to 10, and deleted the admin account (all via phpMyAdmin).

Therefore, I no longer have an admin account called admin. Sure, you could probably just rename the admin account, but that wouldn’t have worked to well in my case (I needed to have every post under the same username).
