    Hi there,

“my achievements” doesn’t show up even though it’s displayed on my profile (see attached images). Could you help me?

I didn’t fill out a link because it’s a closed membership site. But I can create a temp user if it would help you.

    Best regards
    Sascha

    Hi @violinspiration,

It seems that you are using BadgeOS achievement widget to display the achievements. Please make sure to select the badge type to display the badges on front-end widgets.

@violinspiration Do not send @wooninjas any credentials to your site in anyway. That author risks getting banned for asking.

@wooninjas I’m going to review and redact all of your replies. Your account is now on moderation watch.

    https://wordpress.org/support/guidelines/#being-mod-watched-or-banned

I’ve deleted your offer to login to your user’s site. I’m am 100% sure you mean well but please never ask for credentials on these forums.

    https://wordpress.org/support/guidelines/#the-bad-stuff

Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.

Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us asking you to repeatedly stop before escalating up to the plugins team.

    It’s also not necessary.

There are many ways to get information you need and accessing the user’s site is not one of them. That’s going too far.

    You get the idea.

Volunteer support is not easy. But these forums need to a safe place for all users, experienced or new. Accessing their system that way is a short cut that will get you into real trouble in these forums.

Thank you Jan Dembowski. I chose another plugin for my plans.

    Wish you a nice Day

@jdembowski, I apologize for this. We completely overlooked this part of the guidelines, but we are the official support partners for the plugin and from what we have seen, it is a common practice to ask for the credentials, but of course not on a public forum. We will be careful next time.

@wooninjas I may have been unclear.

That’s like “I can’t ask for admin, let’s go to my site where I can. Wink, wink.”

If you send users to your site for asking for admin, you’ll get into real trouble here up to and including getting your account here banned.

Do not ask to log into a users site. Do not. It’s that simple. User’s of free open source software here are not your or anyone’s customers.

If you cannot help them without that access then feel free to inform them that you cannot help them as you’ve hit the limits of what you can do.
