Support » Fixing WordPress » Multisite/region setup

  • Hi,

We are a company that has it’s main office in the UK but also has distributors in a number of countries. Currently they all look after their own websites. Recently we revamped are website and are standardising the other sites. They will be using a copy of the main website and edit for their region. This currently means we will have 6 separate versions of the company site, which obviously isn’t an efficient use of resources.

Ideally I’d like to be able to set up the one master site that will then react to the visitors location, loading up a tailored version for their region. I thought that the WordPress Multisite option would be suitable, but I’m having my doubts.

If the master site was located in the UK and was called http://www.acme.com and somebody looked at the site from Australia, could it be set to automatically forward the visitor to the correct site or would they need to choose to load the other site manually?

Or is there a plugin that somebody could recommend that would do this?

    Hope that makes sense 🙂

    Christian
