• Hi,
Recentley I haved installed WordPress with WAMP on my computer. I followed all instructions and have the multisite dashboard along with the single site dashboard, the single site dashboard works fine and I can view the webpage ect..

The problem comes when I try to create a second site through the multisite dashboard, it allows me to enter in the boxes to create the site and then even shows at the top that the site is there under the main site, but when I try to go to the sites dashboard or view page it brings up “webpage cannot be found” http 404.

I’m sure that there is something simple i’m not doing.

Any help will be much appreciated.

WAMP means locally on your computer as a server, ay?

Do pretty permalinks work on your site?

    Thanks for your reply Ipstenu

Thats right, local host, to test sites before you go live.
I haven’t really delt with permalinks but I have mod_rewrite enabled, do you think it might be to do with that area?

Turn on pretty permalinks on your main site and see if they work.

If that works, make sure your httpd.conf has AllowOverride set to ALL.
