# Multisite with subdirectory cannot find files

 * I’ve created a multisite with sudirectories. The multisite works however the 
   frontend no styling or js or anything works because it cannot be detected. When
   inspecting, I see that the pathway it is trying to find is
 * GET [https://domainexample.com/subdirectoryexample/assets/css/styles.css?ver=1593022677](https://domainexample.com/subdirectoryexample/assets/css/styles.css?ver=1593022677)
   net::ERR_ABORTED 404 (Not Found)
 * Because it has the additional path of the ‘subdirectoryexample’ it cannot find
   the styles.css since it doesn’t exist there. The pathway should be
 * [https://domainexample.com/assets/css/styles.css](https://domainexample.com/assets/css/styles.css)
 * How can I get the subdirectory sites to access the style file (and any other 
   files for that matter) through the pathway of the main site instead of its own
   pathway?Hoping this makes sense as I’m trying to explain it the best way I can.

 * If this was actually a subdirectory multisite network then WordPress would know
   where all the files are and would probably reference those properly.
 * I’m wondering if maybe instead you have multiple WordPress instances running 
   in separate host subdirectories or have created separate directories on your 
   web host during the domain mapping which is causing this problem.
 * You didn’t provide a link to your website so I was unable to look.
