# Multisite support

 * Hi,
 * We’re currently implementing search with Algolia for a University. We’ve been
   using your plugin and everything has been working well. Plugin installed in an
   local environment and indexing post content just fine.
 * However we’ve been experiencing issues when using the plugin with Multisite. 
   When Indexing we get an error telling us that the request is empty. Seems like
   the plugin is not finding the content to index.

 * Searching through your changelog we’ve come across in v.1.3.0 * Add new filters
   for multisite developers
 * We can’t seem to find this particular filter nor any documentation on using your
   plugin with Multisite.
 * It would be of great help if you could direct us in the right direction since
   we love your plugin and would hate to have to build this functionality our selfs
   from scratch 🤓

 * Some general information from our main dev team for the plugin, that may help
   with your details above:
 * You need to activate and configure it on each sub-site, using different prefixes
   for each sub-site.
 * They don’t share an index, so you can’t search across all sites. There was someone
   who got it to work across multiple sub-sites, but he had to do a lot of custom
   code, since it’s not really architected for that. I think the PHP search didn’t
   work at all, if I recall right, since that uses WP_Query under the hood, so he
   was using instantsearch.
