Multisite subdomains

  • hey so I have problem with multisite subdomains. I’d like to have something like this:

    oranges.example.com
    apples.example.com
    where “example.com” is my domain

    what I have now?

    oranges.example.com/domains/example.com
    apples.example.com/domains/example.com

    and I don’t know how to remove that /domains/example.com

    when I directly type oranges.example.com then I get access denied no permissions, I also tried to create folder called oranges in ftp and no luck.

    Here is the code generated by wordpress.

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /domains/example.com/
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]

    # uploaded files
    RewriteRule ^files/(.+) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$1 [L]

    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
    RewriteRule ^ - [L]
    RewriteRule . index.php [L]

    a conf

    define('WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true);
     define('MULTISITE', true);
    define('SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', true);
    $base = '/domains/domena.com/';
    define('DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE', 'example.com');
    define('PATH_CURRENT_SITE', '/domains/example.com/');
    define('SITE_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1);
    define('BLOG_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1);

    After like 7 hours of trying I seriously don’t know what to do please help me.

  • This is why you have that:

    RewriteBase /domains/example.com/

    Right now you can’t have WP in a folder other than the root of example.com if you want it to work.
