Support » Networking WordPress » Multisite shared content and permalinks

  • Hi,

    I’m looking for a way to set up a multi country website, where all countries share global content and have their own local content.
    I was thinking of using the network setup, to give each country its own site. But I can’t figure out what the best option is to have the global content in there as well. Is there a way to automatically copy the global content to the sub sites and have their permalinks point to the sub site? Or is there a way to use the content of the global site?
    I also need to be able to use wpml to make everything multi lingual.

    Thanks in advance for your ideas.

    The following plugins will push code to multiple sites on your network, however I don’t know if they’ll be translated.

    Broadcast a post/page to other blogs. Whitelist, blacklist, groups and automatic category+tag posting/creation available.
    * http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/threewp-broadcast/

    Allows you to duplicate posts and pages to multiple sub-blogs at once.

    Thanks for that Ipstenu. I did see these plugins, but was hoping to find a solution where I don’t have to broadcast/duplicate posts. But after some more research, it might be the best way to go for now.

    Thanks again.

    The issue is that MultiSite isn’t actually built for what you’re doing. Duplicating Data across sites is pretty much only a good idea in your case (multiple languages), so you’re a fringe case :/ Sorry.
