I have installed ‘multisite’ using ‘Enable Multi-Site’ plugin. All worked well for several days, but now all the plugins have functionality limited to ‘Activate & Deactivate’. There is no facility to delete or go to author’s web site, etc. Also on individual pages ‘ckeditor’ (plugin) toolbar is not there and the page shows ‘html’ only – any thoughts as to how I fix this?

Only the network admin can add/delete plugins. Go to WP-admin > network > plugins

Ckeditor would need to be network activated to work on all sites right away.

Mike – thanks, but the same lack of functionality is on all sites including the network admin. I can activate, say ckeditor on network admin, but I can’t delete or add them to the individual sites and anyway on the pages ckeditor toolbar doesn’t appear.

You may not be understanding how this works…

Network Admin – Install, remove plugins from the network. Network activate plugins (i.e. active for all sites).

Per Site Admin – Activate/deactivate all non-network activating plugin.

Those are two separate things from ‘This plugin don’t work.’ 🙂

There is no facility to delete or go to author’s web site, etc.

That is by design. You do it via the Network Admin plugin page.

Also on individual pages ‘ckeditor’ (plugin) toolbar is not there and the page shows ‘html’ only – any thoughts as to how I fix this?

Which plugin? You say ‘ckeditor’ and I’m assuming you mean http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ckeditor-for-wordpress/ but … it really, really, really, helps if you link to where you got the plugin 🙂

Mike – Thankyou for taking the time to reply. Yes the ckeditor is as above and I will nominate its origin in future.

I have fixed multisite by deleting and re installing and all is now working well. I also find using ‘safari’ seems to be the most reliable system to operate WordPress
