Support » Plugin: Yoast SEO » Multisite not saving metadata in some posts

  • Resolved John

    Hello guys!

    How are you doing?

Please, already tried several methods, but can’t solve this (tried Site Health plugin, deactivated all plugins, followed your troubleshooting instructions…).

I have a multisite installation. In some Pages I can enter the Title and Meta Desc, and it is saved normally. But, in other pages, it just doesn’t save data entered on Yoast.

In Posts or other CPTs, the data is saved normally too.

I saw console, there is no error there.

I’m migrating from SEOPress. But SEOPress is already deleted from installation. Before SEOPress I had Rank Math, but it is also deleted from the multisite installation.

    WP 5.4.1
    Yoast 14.2

    Any ideas?

    Hi @jemoreto,

We understand that for some pages in your site, the Yoast SEO data doesn’t get saved and or appear in the page HTML. Is this correct?

If so, can you please try resetting the Yoast SEO indexables tables for this site by using the Yoast Test Helper plugin? Since you’re using multisite, this should be activated and completed in the site dashboard where the problem is happening. You may also need to go to SEO > Tools in the site dashboard and click the button under SEO data to speed up your site.

Let us know if this solves the problem.

    Similia Problem here:

A Multi Site installation, with Yoast Plugin Network Activation.

Any “Edit Snippet” we do and “Update” page going to Niravana.

Looks like Yoast forget everything, even after Tools – Yoast SEO -> “Optimized Site”

Only “Bulk editor” works on the backend, but changes are not visible at front end/visitor level.

    Please advise

    Hello @priscillamc!

Thanks for your inputs. I’ve tried your suggestions, and several other combinations, no luck 🙁

We understand that for some pages in your site, the Yoast SEO data doesn’t get saved and or appear in the page HTML. Is this correct?

That’s correct. This is happening on post type Page. My network has 2 sites, and this is happening on both. In some pages Yoast works; another ones, it just don’t. Tried several combinations, disable all plugins, check custom functions, enable/disable Yoast Test Helper and/or Health Check plugin (together or not), and so on.

@pakkriss suggestion’s on use SEO > Bulk editor actually works for title and metadesc; but, as we know, it doesn’t allow to handle other options of “per page” Yoast’s plugin.

Anyway, thanks. So far I’m trying to figure it out on my way. Let’s see what happens next.
