    There’s a lot going on here….

    Let’s step back 🙂

    You have WordPress installed at

    You have a second one installed in

    You want to merge those two. Do you want to just move /secondsite so all the posts are in or are you actually trying to make a multisite?

    thanks for responding heres the setup your part correct let me explain further sorry for not clarifying

    Main Blog A :: is Multisite
    Blog B ::

    i created an multisite in network dashboard to move blog b into because that folder is in different folder but same database with different prefix, however i want to move all content from second blog into virtual multisite instead. the reason is because i don’t want to go through hassle configured capabilities files and such to get one time login and it doesn’t work %100 because even though i can login with my blog a credentials my avatar is different on blog (B). plus am trying to clean up the server too much files that is unnecessary when site should have been an virtual site rather than an actual secondary installation setup

    But blogb is a separate install you said? Right? So that is not multisite. Yet.

    Do you want blogb to be a multisite? Don’t worry about details right now 🙂 There are just a lot of directions we can go with this, and I want to make sure we do the right one! Just yes or no 🙂

    Yes i want blog b multisite i have an few settings this is how blog b wp-config looks

    The code doesn’t matter. YET. You have to take things in order, step by step.

    The wp-config, actually, won’t ever matter. We’re not going to use it.

    What we’re going to do is, as you’ve done, export blogb. now hang on to that XML file, and do not delete or touch blogb. Leave it alone right now.

    Go back to

    Create a new subsite, call it blogc – At this point, you want a different name than blogb, but you want the same number of letters in the name. SO if blogb is really joecool, then you should make your newsite joecoo2.

    Import that XML file into blogc. You want to bring in the images, so check the box for that.

    Verify it works.

    Then we can clean up blogb and get the name back 🙂

    i did that when i try to import not it looks like its doing something then it stop am seeing just white screen usually if i import data locally on my test server it says successfull or something but none of that is happening

    A white screen is actually an error message 🙂

    It means you have a PHP error.

    How big is blogb?

    my secondary blog has 137 post,

    however i got it working now, what i did was moved the uploads folder to the blogs.dir/10/files

    then i import all the xml details without the downloads / attachment importment function chkd and now the blog is working fine… thanks very much i couldn’t wait i had to figure something out

    am still having the same issue thought it was fixed, the issue is i moved the images from secondary blog, and moved them into blogs.dir/5/files/ so forth then all most have been imported along with menus an so forth i didn’t click the download attachment link because i had updated the xml file to the correct new paths where the images are, but am not seeing how the site originally was when i import data images and thumbs are missing not showing there thumgs and images..

    You moved the images and then moved the files?

    I’m really not sure what you did, but you certainly went a hard way around…

    oka lets start over so i created an new site i didn’t moved any images from blog b folder nor have i imported any xml files as of yet just base theme with its settings nothing changed also in settings tab under network menu for the subsite, what shall i do with the xported xml now , take into consideration that i can import post, categorys, menus an authors, but download and file attachments never gets imported it goes through its process as if its importing then just stuck at an white screen nothing been displaying said done or anything , when i chk blogs.dir/#/ no images are there so lets go through it again your way thanks

    am not able to import because of this error here

    Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 130023424) (tried to allocate 20536 bytes) in /root/365/serverid/htdocs/webfolder/wp-includes/media.php on line 258

    and i see this when i use safar browser, its funny enough reason i tried that browser is because i remember i fixed an issue using that browser, not saying its an browser issue, but for some reason in chrome, and firefox am not seeing that error at all it just shows an white screen. i did try to increase my memory limit and execution time using this directive in the wp-config.php file located in the root of my main installation multisite, i added it to the header right after <?php

    define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’);

    am not sure anymore what to do i have created several multisite blogs to and tried over ten times literally and to import, am at now blog numder 23 if i delete this one so i have been trying various ways numberous times. and still nothing
