# Multisite—>Local [IMPOSSIBLE?]

 * All I want to do is place a copy of my 2-site multisite into Local. The main
   site survives wonderfully intact, but the sub-site is literally just links to
   my live existing sub-site.
 * This seems the simplest task: Save both sites of a multisite into Local together.
   No push, no pull–no magic. Just that.
 * Why isn’t it possible?

 * Hi [@kevinroman](https://wordpress.org/support/users/kevinroman/),
 * WP Migrate Support Team here. Thanks for reaching out with your query! We would
   be happy to assist.
 * WP Migrate can export your entire WordPress site, including the database and
   files necessary to fully replicate the site in a new environment. The resulting
   ZIP archive can then be imported to Local.

 * When** **exporting a multisite network, you’ll need to include WordPress core
   files during the export to ensure the constants defined in wp-config.php are
   maintained throughout the export and import process.
 * If there were any issues with your subsite after the import process, could you
   let us know if any errors appeared during the import? Also, did you encounter
   any problems during the export process?
 * We look forward to your response!

 * I assume you mean your Pro version, since that doesn’t appear possible using
   the Lite version.
 * I included the WordPress core files and didn’t see any errors at all during export
   or import into Local. The main site is perfectly duplicated and the data for
   the subsite is all there, but just isn’t connected at all (my live subsite does
   have a custom domain, but even including a find/replace during export to change
   that to something like “subsite.mainsite.local” didn’t make it operable.
 * Local has been so great to run test copies of single WP installs locally, that
   I really wanted to give Migrate a try, but I guess if I want to test things on
   a multisite copy, I’ll need to just duplicate it as an actual live test site
   using something like Updraft.
 * Thanks for your time!
