    I installed and network activated:

    – the menu item “ultimate tinymce” doesn’t show up in the network admin menu
    – the menu item “ultimate tinymce” shows up in the admin menu of every site

How do i reverse this two issues? Thanks

You don’t want to “network activate” the plugin in this case.

You want to just activate it for the “super admin” site.

    Is this what you mean?

yes, when installing/network activating other plugins their setting appears on the network admin’s menu only, or in some cases on the first page aka the super admin site, but it doesn’t appear on the child sites. Thats to unify the settings across the network. Some exemptions, like Yoast’s SEO plugin, have switch where the super admin can disable the display of it’s menu item on child sites.

Meanwhile i have found somewhat of a workaround by installing another plugin “easy blogging” from wpmudev which suppresses the display of plugin menu items in the child site’s menu but it would be nice if the behaviour is controlled without adding more plugins.

    Agreed.

So what exactly is it you would change?

I apologize.. but I’m still having difficulties understanding exactly what you are describing.

Can you please walk me through it slowly… tell me what it is doing now… and what it is you would change to make it do it better?

    Thank you VERY much!!

    Hi again.

Just wondering if you had any feedback for me.

    Thank you!

    Hi Josh
Sorry for the slow response. Have a look here; the super admin choses who has access to the plugin settings: site admin (default) or Super admins only. If the Super admins only option is selected, the settings menu item will not display for non-super admins. New blogs get the settings from this blog: ID completes this function.

Let me know if i can be of further assistance.

    Thank you!

    Actually… you can.

I’ve been playing around with this all day… and I believe I have something working. It’s REALLY difficult with my plugin; because of the extensive amount of options and ‘cross-referencing’ of options.

So, I believe this is something I am only going to incorporate into my PRO version of the plugin.

Now, this is where I can use your help:

    1. I’d like to provide you with a complimentary copy of the PRO version.
    2. This will allow you to ‘test’ the multi-site features along with me.. and provide me some great feedback (since I’m not a hard-core multisite user).
    3. By helping me… we can make the PRO plugin extremely ‘friendly’ with multisite authors.

    What do ya say??

    Interested???
