I’m currently trying to get the multisite feature of WordPress 3 to work using IIS 6 and would appreciate any advice anyone might be able to offer. I’ve been through the process to set up multisite in WordPress and now have the Super Admin section in the control panel. Have configured the multisite feature to use subdomains and have created one additional blog on top of the existing main blog.

The main blog is located at and this works fine. However, the additional blog located at just gives a blank page in a web browser.

We’ve added an A type DNS entry so that * points to the IIS 6 server and because IIS 6 doesn’t support wilcard subdomains, I’ve had to manually add an identity to the existing site ( so that also points to the same location.

Any ideas why I’m getting blank pages on attempting to navigate to the new blog?

    Many thanks in advance!

  • I think it would work better of WP is installed in the root so that the network will not create sub-sub-domains. Or try making subfolders instead?

Blank pages usually mean an error. Did you remove the default TwentyTen theme?

That was it thanks – someone in a different department had deleted the default theme.
