Support » Networking WordPress » Multisite CSS <body class=”home blog”> No PageID to serve active state to menu

  • Hi wordpress 3.0 multisite superadmins!
I’m sure some of you have come across this issue, so I’m humbly asking for your guidance.

I have a MultiSite with a sweet menu that has both hover and active states for navigation ease.
Visually works well with post it notes stuck to a script acting as my menu.
Here is a link to the site.

My problem is the blog menu in the upper left corner. I am trying to get it to also have an active state but since each link navigates to it’s own site, they all have the exact same body class of <body class=”home blog”>

I have checked out various forums etc and have found ways to add extra classes but can’t find this specific issue experienced by anyone else. If I could just get an ID for the home page of each of my multisite’s I’d be off and running.

Yes, I have tried creating a static page and pointing the posts to a page and then calling that page ID from the menu but it doesn’t work… for obvious reasons.

Really need a guru’s advice here because as far as I can see, every new site under the same domain has the exact same body class and as such, all are being given an active state rather than one at a time.

Thanks for your time and assistance.

There shouldn’t be anything multisite specific about this. Identifying the home page of each site is the exact same as if it were a single install.

And yes, I have used other themes that do this. 🙂 They were built on a single WP install and work fine in MU/network enabled.

So.. not sure what you did in there, but didn’t want you to go down a rabbit hole for nothing.
