 * Hi, all –
 * I’d like to report an issue that we’ve been having with Post SMTP for a while.
   I submitted [a PR](https://github.com/wpexpertsio/Post-SMTP/pull/122) for it
   last April, but it doesn’t look like it’s been looked at yet.
 * We have Post SMTP installed on a multisite network, but not as a Network-wide
   activation. When an administrator on any site in the network activates PostSMTP,
   it runs capability setup on _all_ sites in the network. Conversely, when it is
   deactivated, it removes the capabilities for _all_ sites in the network. This
   has the effect of a single administrator being able to nuke capabilities for
   every site in a network without realizing what they’ve done and without any sort
   of notification.
 * Could y’all take a look when you get a chance?
 * – Arianna

 * Hi Arianna,
 * Thank you for the detailed report and for taking the time to submit a PR for
   this as well.
 * We understand the concern here, especially in multisite environments where capability
   handling across the network can have unintended consequences if activation/deactivation
   logic is applied globally.
 * We’ve forwarded your findings and the related behavior to our technical team
   for further analysis and review, including the PR reference and the multisite
   activation context you described.
 * Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

 * Hi Arianna,
 * Thank you again for reporting this issue and for submitting the PR earlier.
 * I’m pleased to let you know that we have now fixed the issue internally. Kindly
   download and apply the [patch ](https://github.com/wpexpertsio/Post-SMTP/tree/fix/multisite-capability-issue-fix-PSMEL-1604)
   for testing on your multisite environment.
 * The fix will also be included officially in the upcoming plugin releases.
 * We really appreciate the detailed explanation and the time you took to identify
   the multisite capability handling behavior.
