Multiple siteurls possible?

  • Before, my blog had a URL like this: http://www.website.com/blog but now I’ve changed the URL to http://blog.website.com/

After struggling with the apache settings and everything I finally got this to redirect correctly. However, I also want my old address to still continue working (http://www.website.com/blog)

When I go to http://www.website.com/blog it pulls up the blog but it says “Not Found. Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn’t here.” The reason for this is that I must specify one address for the ‘siteurl’ and ‘home’ settings in the wp_options table (in the wordpress database), and that is the address that will work. I currently have it set up for blog.website.com but is there any way I can have it recognize both addresses?

    Thanks in advance.

  • If you’re bringing up the “Not Found” page, that’s a page inside WordPress, so I’m betting that your old WP install is still in website.com/blog. If you go to blog.website.com, what happens?

Do you just want to do a redirect? You could set up your .htaccess so that any call to website.com/blog automatically redirects to blog.website.com. Try this:

    So maybe redirect 301 /blog/ http://blog.website.com?
