We are administrating several WP installs and want to set up 2FA for all our admin-accounts.

Is there a way to “share” a master keycode so we dont get one individal for each site, which will be a mess?

    Hi,

There isn’t a way to do this automatically. You could manually copy the database setting for the secret key between databases, to get the same key codes on each site. If you did this, this would mean, of course, that if one site is compromised, then all are. As with all security, there is a trade-off between the level of security and the inconvenience of security checks.

OK, thanks. What is this field called and where is it located in the db? Would the initial setup be any different, or do we modify the db after initial setup (or just copy setup from one “master” site?)

As for security this would anyway add an extra layer compared to current setup with only username and password.

    Hi,

In the ‘usermeta’ table, if you select a particular user that you have activated it for, then you’ll then see the keys. (I don’t know them off the top of my head and am in a rush… if you need professional assistance, we are available at http://www.simbahosting.co.uk).
