Hi everyone, I’m wondering if you can help.

I’ve got a decent sized blog, of about 2000 articles, and I’ve got a team of editors doing some writing/SEO/editing etc, and they all have individual log-ins.

The problem is that they are causing the site to run obscenely slow!

I’ve had a speed optimization company make the site fast, and pass all the tests, so it’s not anything technical going wrong except when 20 people are working on the site at the same time.

My feeling is that multiple people pressing “update” at the same time is doing it, or something to do with the autosave or cache.

    Help!

If you have any suggestions, or things to try I’d really appreciate it!

    Cheers, Matt

With 2000 articles and many editors, it’s time to find a VPS or dedicated server rather than using shared hosting. You simply need more horsepower.

    Yes we’ve got dedicated hosting!

    Thanks for your response.

Then work with httpd.conf and my.cnf for high loads. Use mysqltuner and ab (apache benchmark) to test your server and adjust apache for better number of MinSpareServers, etc. Adjust my.cnf to the suggestions that mysqltuner gives. Clean your databse of post revisions. Lots of tutorials out there.

Wow that went way over my head!
