# Multiple page templates per theme

 * Hi there,
    I’m looking to use multiple page templates on my blog so that I may
   have a different sidebar in use on each page.
 * I have done this before with a previous version, but I cannot seem to figure 
   it out for 2.6.
 * I have a second page made, called “pageabout.php” – at the top of that pages’
   code I have:
 *     ```
       <?php
       /*
       Template Name: About Page
       */
       ?>
       ```
   
 * That used to be all it took to have the page template show up in a drop down 
   box I could choose from when I am editing the page in WordPress. I cannot seem
   to locate that drop down box anymore.

 * I read something like this in this forum once. I remember that one solution which
   worked was changing to default theme, going to the Write>Page and saw that dropdown
   box was there. After that, changed Design back to custom theme and checked Write
   >Page and the dropdown box was back on. The theme had nothing to do with Admin
   backend, but it worked. Good luck.
