Multiple Notifications

Plugin update: 1.3.9.5
Despite the latest update we are still receiving multiple each and every time an article is published – sometimes up to 3 times.

Thanks for your message.I haven’t heard of any more issues with duplicate posts since the 1.3.9.5 update.
Other users have experienced double posts when using other plugins such as WPBook or Social Networks Auto-Poster though.Can you follow this help document and let me know how you get on?

JackInstructions are rather long to follow at this stage, I have a hunch that this plugin maybe causing a conflict.

I got egg on my face again!
We tested with just the administrator being notified. And it worked fine.
one notice per post.
Then, after a few weeks I got confident it would work for all subscribers.EVERY SUBSCRIBER GOT 9 NOTICES IN 2 SECONDS!!!
I sent over 9,000 emails in 2 seconds and froze my account with sendgrid, ticked off 1,000 people and effectively damaged my credibility in the process.
I feel like an amateur, but I did everything I could to test it.I’m so mad now I don’t know what to do.
It’s a simple process to send a notice, ONCE, to everyone when a new post is published. It’s not rocket science dang it!I’ll be removing this from my site immediately

I’ve had the chance to test this myself on very large sites too and the only times i’ve ever had problems where multiple notifications have been sent out are when other plugins have been involved. Posts that send to social networks for example, seem to hook onto the publish process and trigger more notifications than normal.I’m confident that the latest version of BNFW running on the latest version of WordPress, when used on a single site, with no other plugins such as this installed, sends only one notification.
If you’re still having issues in this same scenario, please let me know and i’m sure we can work together to solve any problems you may be having.

Thanks for your message.It may be possible to do this but I’ll have to get back to you. In all my testing, and many user reports and message, I haven’t had an issues since the recent update so I’m 99% sure it’s another plugin causing a conflict.
Are you able to list the plugins that you can activated on your WordPress installation?

What happens when you de-activate all active plugins except for BNFW and publish a post? Do you still get multiple notifications?Jack
I can’t do this because we have 40-50 premium members and Im affraid later we have a new problem.
sure it’s not a problem with your plugin but not how to fix it

It’s tricky because without de-activating other plugins, there’s no way to see what the problem is.Possible culprits are:

WTI Like PostAre you able to test by deactivating these plugins and re-test to start off?

I disabled the plugin has told me and I did a test with your plugin and I have received two identical emails, the problem persists.
Are you running the latest version of WordPress and the latest version of BNFW?
