 * I have a working blog on a self-hosted server in a unique folder. I have some
   static web pages residing in anther folder. I have a link from the static pages
   pointing to the blog. Everything works. Now I would like to make the static pages
   work the way the WordPress blog works. Do I have to add a database to the folder
   where the static pages reside?
 * I’m confused about the “index” pages.

 * Possibly the easiest thing would be to copy the content into pages on your WP
   install, but it depends on how you want the whole thing to work.
 * Do you want WordPress to run the whole site, from yourdomain.com?

 * I think that’s what I want. I just want to have the ease of use for my static
   pages as I do with my WP blog.

 * Solid call 🙂
 * Okay. First make PAGES on your site and copy the content over from your static
   HTML pages. Get those looking good.
 * Then I would move WP out of it’s own folder: [http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress](http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress)
 * OR keep it in the folder, but have it ‘act’ like it’s in domain.com : [http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory](http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory)
 * Then … that’s it 🙂
