Multiple MUWP with single domain

    I am testing a project and trying to figure out if I can install multiple MUWP with a single domain name. why multiple MU? long story.
    example.com should be the root of all subdomains and not something like 1.1.exmaple.com and 1.2.example.com

    <VirtualHost 127.0.0.1:8080>
    ServerName example.com
    ServerAlias *.example.com
    DocumentRoot “/var/www/vhosts/example.com/current1

    Maybe something imaginary like this:
    <VirtualHost 127.0.0.1:8080>
    ServerName example.com
    ServerAlias *.example.com
    DocumentRoot “/var/www/vhosts/example.com/current2

    Appreciate ideas!

    Not gonna happen. The server cannot direct wildcards to two different places.

    If you need multiple installs for multiple database, you;re going about it backwards and there are a handful of plugins to help.

    The idea is to put two different projects which are under a same name (same domain) in to two MU installation because each of them have pile of subdomains and different plugins. not db related.

    Do you have different approach in mind?

    they can still go in one install. The plugins and themes folders are shared. just activate the plugins you want on each subsite.

    I can;t see any reason why you;d need two install there.

    Okey, seems not doable in a same server. thanks Andrea!
