As many have attested, thank you so much for all the assistance that you provide for you plug in.

I have looked and looked for what I need and have not been able to find what I need, but Subscribe2 looks like it might fit the bill but am unable to find what I need it it exactly.

Here is what I am looking for:
When a post is published, I would like the entire post sent to the subscribers.

Here is the kicker, the posts are published by Catagory, and with Rolescop, I have been able to restrict whom see which post. In the same manner, I only want the email to go to the same members that are restricted to viewing the post.

Here is a general view of my catagories:
    1. Turtle Notes – PARENT
    2. Membership – PARENT
    3. –GROUP 1 – CHILD OF #2
    4. –GROUP 2 – CHILD OF #2
    5. –GROUP 3 – CHILD OF #2
    6. –GROUP 4 – CHILD OF #2
    7. Events – PARENT
    8. Committees – PARENT
    9. –Technology – CHILD OF #8
    10. –Membership – CHILD OF #8
    11. –Auction – CHILD OF #8
    12. Small Groups – PARENT
    13. –GROUP 5 – CHILD OF #12
    14. –GROUP 6 – CHILD OF #12
    15. –GROUP 7 – CHILD OF #12
    16. –GROUP 8 – CHILD OF #12
    17. Scheduled Event Information – PARENT

I would also like to be able to post a message to the parent, and the email go to all the children.

Is this possible? I have not come across anything that says yes or no. If so is there any documentation to tell me how to accomplish this?

Later I am going to create a page, listing all the lists that they are subscribed to and deselect the ones that they want to opt out.

    Thanks again so much.

  • @randyfee,

The only way to achieve this with Subscribe2 would be getting all of your users to register with your site and then subscribe to particular categories. This would not be an option for Public Subscribers.

Registered Users/Subscribers can choose email notifications based on post category and also choose the email format (html or plain text) and the size of the post content (full or excerpt). The can log in at anytime and change these settings.

They would need to subscriber a child and parent categories to get emails for each though.

This actually is a private site, so all users are registered users.
Is there a comprehensive doc on how to set this all up?

Try the FAQs and the ReadMe installed with the plugin; they should help point you in the right direction.
