 * Hi. I am creating three landing pages on my site, each targeted to a different
   audience. The goal is to have a MC list sign-up on each landing page.
 * I know I can’t have multiple lists in MC, but I can have different groups.
 * Three questions:
 * 1) Can I preset each landing page to a specific group, or is my only option to
   give the list and let the reader choose?
 * 2) Can the reader choose more than one list?
 * 3) Can I have a series of predefined messages established so that after someone
   signs up for a group, they get a series of emails, say, spaced over three weeks?
 * Thanks.

 * Hey Allen,
 * Though not specific to the plugin, there are still some great questions here,
   and I’m happy to answer them!
 * The WordPress plugin only allows you to connect to a single MailChimp list at
   a time, so you won’t be able to generate multiple forms connected to different
   lists using this plugin. However, you do have a few other options.
 * One option would be to utilize MailChimp’s embed code, which it provides for
   each list in your account. By making a few edits to your code you can even send
   the “group” selections in the background of your form code. This effectively
   will allow you to place a different version of the embed code on each of your
   pages, then silently send their group data in the background subscription process.
   This will make sure each landing page points to a different group and would require
   no further action from the subscriber themselves.
 * More information about how to code that additional functionality can be found
   here:
    Can I set up my signup form so that I can see where my recipients signed
   up?: [http://eepurl.com/SKbn](http://eepurl.com/SKbn)
 * While it doesn’t address the scenario exactly, the same concept can be used to
   pass that group data along in the background of your code. You’ll just need to
   predefine that value in your embed code.
 * Another option, as you mentioned would be to create a single list with multiple
   groups in MailChimp. Then select that list with the WordPress plugin. Your readers
   would then manually select which groups they’d like to be a part of and subscribe
   that way.
 * I want to make sure I cover each of your questions, so I’ll address them now:
 * 1) While you can’t do it with the plugin, you can do it by editing the embed
   code using the concept in that KB article above to create different iterations
   of your form code.
 * 2) Hmm, this question might need a bit more clarification. Subscribers can subscribe
   to multiple groups in a single list, yes. Additionally, if you have multiple
   lists in your account, they can be subscribed to multiple lists as well.
 * 3) Yes! This series of messages that send after someone signs up to a list or
   group is called an autoresponder and it’s a feature that comes along with our
   paid plans. Take a look at the feature page on those here: [http://mailchimp.com/features/autoresponders/](http://mailchimp.com/features/autoresponders/)

 * All great info. THANKS!
 * Just so I am clear, I can approach Q1 and Q2 in different ways.
 * With Q1, I use the snippet of code and essentially predefine the group selection
   for the reader based on the landing page from which they sign-up. Right?
 * In Q2, and as a way of using the Plugin and not the code, I would create the
   same MC signup form with all the possible groups on it and let the reader choose
   which subscriptions he/she wants. Right?
 * As for Q3, I see where the paid subscriptions are available. I even watched a
   demo video. Most excellent.

 * Hey Allen,
 * Q1, Right, yep yep. You want to edit the embed code to pass the group selection
   as a predefined value. Each landing page would have a slightly different version
   of the embed code with a different predefined group selection.
 * Q2, Right, the plugin supports group options for your list. So you can just create
   a list with groups and those options should be available on your plugin-generated
   sign up form.

 * All great stuff. Thanks. You’re being super duper helpful.
 * If a reader gets the list signup with a series of groups shown, may they select
   more than one group?
 * For example, let’s say the general **list** is “Web Opt-Ins” and the **groups**
   are “All New Blog Posts In All Categories”, “Which Wine Goes With What”, “All
   About Cooking Beef”, “All About Cooking Chicken” and so forth.
 * It might look like this:
 * “I’m glad you like our awesome writing at StuffYouNeverEat.com. Just tell us
   what you want to get by email.
 * _____ All New Blog Posts In All Categories
 * _____ Which Wine Goes With What
 * _____ All About Cooking Beef
 * _____ All About Cooking Chicken”
 * (I’m totally making this up, but I think you get my question.)
 * Then, from the back end, can I have my “All New Blog Posts In All Categories”
   receive all new blog posts, while each group receive a series of pre-written
   messages a la the MC Auto-Responder system?
 * Naturally, in this scenario my goal is to have the same email address receive
   two totally different streams of messages, assuming they opted into more than
   one group.

 * Hey Allen,
 * Yes, subscribers can be a part of multiple groups, one group, or even no groups
   at all. So there’s no limitation in that regard for how many groups a subscriber
   can be affiliated with.
 * Once they’re in groups, you can use segmentation in your campaign and/or autoresponder
   sends to direct which messages get sent to which subscribers.
 * Since these questions are more general in nature and not specific to the plugin,
