Multiple inquiry forms on the same website (4 posts)

What is the best way to have multiple MailChimp inquiry forms on the same website? I need to have a unique form on each landing page so that each visitor can receive targeted emails relating to the topic of the page they signed up on.

It appears this would require using embedded forms on the landing pages. Can these be managed through a single segmented contact list? Or would separate lists be required?

How would I go about setting this up?

    Hey there Peter.

Although this isn't specific to the WordPress plugin, it's still an excellent question.

The WordPress plugin only allows for a form to point to a single list, even though you can have as many instances of the form as you'd like through either the widget or the shortcode.

However, if you'd like to set up several different lists, as you mentioned, the MailChimp embed code is going to be the best fit. The embed code allows you to generate a unique form for each list that you want your subscribers to sign up to. Aside from some general information about lists and groups, your best bet is going to swing by our live chat and discuss the particulars of what you're looking to do. We can also go over any potential drawbacks to one method or another.

So, is it necessary to have multiple lists for multiple unique forms, or can the forms point to different groups in a single list?

    Hey Peter,

Multiples lists to generate multiple unique sign up forms is definitely one way to go, but not the only way. You also have the option of making some edits to your embed code so that it "silently" sends information related to what group they're signing up to or where they're signing up from, in order to segment by them later.

We actually have a great KB article that walks through how to setup tracking your subscriber's sign up location with your embed form here:

Can I set up my signup form so that I can see where my recipients signed up?: http://eepurl.com/SKbn

The same concept can be applied to groups in order to have each form automatically subscribe to a particular group.

If you have any questions regarding the plugin specifically, feel free to follow up by posting to this thread. If your question is dealing with a more general MailChimp issue, like managing your embed code, I'd recommend reaching out to our general support resources here: http://kb.mailchimp.com/, as that ensures we can respond to it as quickly as possible!
