    Hello Tobias!

Let me first off say Congrats and Thank You, Tablepress is one of the highest quality free plugins and the very best tables plugin I have used.

I have already constructed the majority of my table, and it is working swimmingly.

I am having issues only in my last cell. The concept is this: I have 7-10 “icon” images of relatively small size. I would like to be able to manually select X out of the 7 possible images as a single field for one row. This is the last cell of each row.

Here are my issues: When I select multiple images from MEDIA to input into a cell, they stack vertically with a generous buffer. This causes each row to be too large. I would prefer these “icon” images to appear horizontally aligned in the cell.

Secondly, is it possible to filter data according to whether or not the “icon” cell contains a given image? IE Is it possible to specify that I’d like to view only records which contain X image in their final cell?

Thank you so much for any assistance!!

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

The alignment of those icons is probably just a matter of some extra CSS code. Can you please post a link to the page with the table where this problem happens, so that I can take a direct look? Thanks!

For that filtering: What kind of filtering do you have in mind here? Via JavaScript by the visitor or pre-filtering to show only a subset of the rows on the page?

    Regards,
    Tobias

Gladly Tobias. The link is here: http://www.maxgthom.com/tv/

Re: your filtering question: it would be preferable if the visitor could select which icons they are interested in and have only the rows appear for which that icon appears in the last column (via Javascript probably).

    THanks again!

    Hi,

thanks for the link! That helps!
The reason for this image layout simply comes from the line breaks in the table cells. Just remove all the (manual) line breaks between the HTML code of the links/images and you’ll be fine.

Thanks for the clarification on the filtering. That’s what I had assumed. Unfortunately, I can’t really think of a directly usable solution here. You could maybe check if the DataTables JS library (that TablePress already uses for the regular filtering) allows doing something like that with custom code that uses the library’s JS API functions.

Haha what a simple fix! That worked great thanks Tobias.

Also forgive my inexperience, can you recommend a resource for learning more about what is possible with the DataTables JS library? I am unfamiliar with it beyond its application in Tablepress.

    Hi,

good to hear that this helped! 🙂

Your best bet for DataTables is probably its website and documentation at http://www.datatables.net/

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
