Support » Plugin: Social Share bar (Digg Digg Alternative) » Multiple float bars appear on same page

  • Resolved Tomahoochi

    Hey guys, love where you are going with this. I want to switch from Digg Digg but when I activate the “Alternative” float bar I get it appearing in three locations all at once…

    It appears once where I tell it to, then again in the center of the page in the header, pushing the rest of the elements behind it down (while the background remains where it should), then again in the center of the content area.

    Any quick suggestions?

    I am using the Thesis 1.8.2 theme.

    I have Digg Digg active again for now.

    What version of the floating bar do you have? This was an issue in the first release but should have been resolved by 1.2. Could you please give us a link to your website as well so that we can look through the source to see if we can find the issue (if it still exists)?

    Hey, thanks for the quick reply. I have the very latest installed – 1.2

    My site is at

    I don’t have your plugin active right now… I want to wait until off-peak hours to play around with it, but maybe you would be able to see an obvious clash within the code somewhere. It is still Digg Digg for now.

    I had it set to show on posts only.

    I found the issue… I had open graph tags being identified in the header and it was causing the float bar to render in that location. I removed them and the float bar is showing once in the correct spot now.

    Can you point me in the direction of where in the plugin code it tells the bar to appear relative to the content. I would like to change it to show in a Thesis hook instead because the “content” starts at different locations on different posts.

    I’m glad you found the issue, I will be working on a few different choices for those that have the_content in more than one location on a single page or post.

    the filter is in the social-floating-bar.php file, you can just search for:
    add_filter (‘the_content’, ‘moki_add_social_content’, 0);
