[Resolved] multiple e-mail addresses

  • Is it possible to use 2 different administration e-mails – the 1st one for outgoing messages like new user notifications, and the 2nd one for incoming messages (e. g. posting pending approval). Thanks in advance for the reply.

  • You can change the outgoing name and email address by adding this to your functions.php file:

    function my_filter_wp_mail_from( $email ){
        return 'myname@example.com';
    }
    add_filter( 'wp_mail_from', 'my_filter_wp_mail_from' );

    function my_filter_wp_mail_from_name( $name ){
        return 'My Name';
    }
    add_filter( 'wp_mail_from_name', 'my_filter_wp_mail_from_name' );

    Thank you Shaun! I would not like to play with .php files, since I don’t know PHP language. Is there a way to do it by installing a plugin? I’ve already installed wp-smtp to be able to send new user notifications. Now I’m trying to change the email address for incoming messages – the ones that WordPress send to me. Once again, I really appreciate your help.

    If you’ve already changed the outgoing email address, why not just assign the incoming email address to your admin account?

    Is it really that easy??? Should I simply go to my admin profile under General Settings, and put any email address I want not even indicating the mail server name/port?

    It should be. Your outgoing mail settings are being overwritten by the plugin you are using, so that email address would only be used to send notifications to (I would think).

    Sorry, I haven’t actually used that plugin you are using, so I’m not sure if it will work.

    Thanks Shaun! I’ll try it and let you know the results.

    It works perfectly, Thanks!
