Support » Fixing WordPress » Multiple Categories selected on Posts showing in Navigation

  • On my website: http://www.savingcontent.com

We post News, Previews, and Reviews all on the front-page. Sometimes it may contain a video, so we give it both a category of News AND Video, essentially multi-categorizing it.

Now, when you read the individual post (and this may be a limitation or issue with the theme that I’m using), but it will show both parent categories as “selected” (so to speak) in the navigation. I would like to have it show only one selected.

    EXPECTED:
News would supersede Video, and should only show the News category. Now if I clicked the Video category, that post would show up in the results, but NOT show selected for News.

If you need specific examples or more information, please let me know. Thank you in advance.

I have the exact same issue. Did you ever resolve it?

in your case yes it may be theme specific. You could add a filter to the category list to exclude videos but that wouldn’t work so well on posts only in the video category.
