# Multiple Authors question

 * I’m trying to decide which software route to go for 1 or more blogs I may be 
   setting up. A feature that is desired is the “user diary” feature of Scoop. Scoop
   looks to be a bit beyond me. Is the Multiple Authors option WP has a potentially
   similar thing. Can I assign posting priveleges to some/all users but have their
   posts pubished on another page?

 * Same, but different. There is no “user diary” component per se to be found in
   WordPress. Each author would have the same posting privileges for the blog.

 * That all depends on what you mean by “another page.” First, WordPress does allow
   for different privileges based on the user role assigned. More on that can be

 * As for this different page thing, you could restrict posting to a specific category
   for authors using a plugin like:

 * and then remove that category from your main blog page.

 * Hello SammyMaudlin, I am in a similar situation trying to decide the right software
   for my new sites… WordPress is awesome, but when you want Scoop functionality
   I’d say take a look at Drupal. Drupal is not nearly as friendly as WordPress,
   but the power to do the journal thing and just about anything you want is there,
   check it out.
