Multiple 404 errors from same IP

I have some bad trolls that are banging my site looking for files. They are clearly looking for a way in, they try about 30 files, then switch their ip and try for another 30 files. Each time i see they are getting 404 error in the log.

Is there a way to stop an IP after multiple 404 errors? Or any other way to stop this bad behavior?
