    Hi All,

How do I detect locale language and set home url from an array of pages without using any multilanguage plugin?

Yes I know, WPML and Polylang can automatically determine browser language and set the corresponding home url. Both plugins also support multi-language embedded but. However there is an issue with backgrounds.

My site multi-language site has different home page backgrounds for each locale language. Unfortunately WPML and Polylang seem to point to a same page-id for all language versions so I can’t set the backgrounds through either Customize or CSS page-id directive.

Therefore, I deleted the multi-language plugins but now I notice that I don’t know how to detect the browser’s locale language and then set the home url.

    a) Is there any plugin that limits itself to this?

    b) What would be the code to achieve this through child theme functions.php?

    c) What about some Js? What’s the code and how do I implement it?

    Please HELP!

    Cheers,
    Dario
