Multi-Step Validation Issue

I am using the Contact Form 7 Multi-Step plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/cf7-multi-step/) to create a multi-step form, the form has 3 steps, on my second step I added a required drag and drop upload field. When I click next on the second step all the other fields validate correctly except for the drag and drop upload field (it lets me go to the last step with no images added). It only validates on the last step with the ‘submit’ button. (Giving the validation error on the last step, with all inputs in the last step filled correctly, I need to go back to the second step to only then see the error notice on the drag and drop upload field).

How can I get the drag and drop upload field to also validate on the multi-step ‘next’ button? I did a test with a normal upload field and it validates correctly on the ‘next’ button.
