 * if setting up a multisite after i activated this plugin should i deactivate and
   network activate this plugin, stick it in the mu-plugins folder or? thanks for
   your help

 * I think you can just activate it from Plugins in your Multisite installation.
   It’s installation-wide, you can’t activate it on a per-site-basis.
