Multi-site on SSL

Hi:

I installed WP Multisite on IIS version 8.5. Per the installation process, I created the .htaccess file and pasted in the provided data. But, now, when I create a page, I cannot access it without a 404 error. All my searches suggested that I need a config.web file (which currently does not exist). I tried creating it and pasted in some of the entries I found using google but that made things worse – I couldn’t even navigate to the wp-admin page with those entries in the web-config file.

Being new to WP, I have no idea where to look next. I can log into the WP admin screens, create pages etc. But I cannot access the page or preview the page.

Any help will be much appreciated.
