Turn off all your plugins for starters, see if you can get in.

Also there was no ‘automated’ WP update in 3.6, so either you’re on a host where they do it for you (and if so, boy are they late), you’re using a plugin for it, or you mean you updated a plugin/theme.

    Hey Mika,

thanks so much for your reply. How can I turn off plugins if I can’t login in the admin panel?

In regards to the upgrade, we received these emails:

    Greetings!

This is a reminder that your package WordPress on chronicpainpartners.com/ (public_html/chronicpainpartners.com) will be upgraded in the next 24 hours.

Should you wish to cancel this upgrade or upgrade immediately, please simply login to your control panel and access QuickInstall and go under Manage Installations.
    Thank you!

So that email comes from our host provider (HostGator) or WordPress?

    Thanks so much

Problem solved! It was HostGators problem. I logged in to HostGator and removed WordPress 3.6 and back to 3.4. Now we are able to log in and I’m looking now if I can safely upgrade.

    Thanks so much!
