Been transitioning a number of sites from SEO Ultimate to All in One SEO.
Have generally been successful using the All in One SEO built in transition tool.

Have totally failed to transition Art Treasures Gallery – multi-language website which uses the plugin polylang.

Have just had to roll back the site from my db and file backup.

The main issue was post transition, I could not access anything except the All in Ones SEO welcome screen. It didn’t matter what was clicked on the only thing that would load was the All in One SEO welcome page.

Wonder if there is an alternative transition method?

This is likely a caching issue. Do you have any server caching like Varnish?
    Who is your hosting company?

It uses SiteGround and the SiteGround Supercaching tool

All my other sites use this too and they converted with no problem.
The only difference is this site uses Polylang

We’re you ever able to resolve this? This is almost certainly SiteGround’s overly aggressive caching.

@hallsofmontezuma – My name is Ivan Atanasov, and I am part of the Senior Support team at SiteGround.

Could you please offer more details regarding your statement? Our SG Optimizer (previously called SG CachePress) is not configured to include cache for the WordPress dashboard of a given WordPress installation.

It has a check for the WP LOGGED_IN_COOKIE. Meaning, if users are logged in – the cache will be bypassed.

@decimus – If this issue is still present, please feel free to open a Support Ticket from your SiteGround User Area -> Support. You can also pass me the ticket ID so that I can check it myself.

@hallsofmontezuma I’ve not tried again as the it so screwed things up I needed to reverse the transition. I’ve sent you a message via the SG support

@ivanatanasov Sorry, I was under the impression you cached wp-admin like certain hosts are doing these days. I haven’t personally verified that at SG though.
If that’s the case, there may be something else going on.
