MU: Single Site DB Backup Error Msg - Out Of Memory (4 posts)

At first, thank you for creating such a solid plugin that strives to have no compromise: I really appreciate using the results of your work.

I get the following error in trying the Database Backup:

"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1906825 bytes) in /var/www/user934/html/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall/classes/wp-security-backup.php on line 56"

Some additional information: Same error with all plugins but not AIOWPS turned off. This is for the main user (admin) MU site: All other sites can do the DB Backup.

Is it really my host, not providing enough memory? PHPINFO shows 64M memory limit - should that be enough?

I had performed a DB prefix change before, but I guess this shouldn't be causing the trouble (?) WP 3.8.3 or 3.9, same error ...

Thank you sincerely for help or suggestions,

    Ka :)

Hi Ka, you need to add more memory to your wordpress by increasing the memory limit your error should go away.

Here is a post you might like to check.

    Kind regards

Thanks sincerely for getting back to me on this issue and providing the specific link. I followed the instructions and updated wp-config.php to the 64M of my provider, which were not enough to have success with the database . Then, I upgraded at my provider to 128M, which brings, with a different file included, the same following message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 31074813 bytes) in /var/www/web50/html/wp-includes/class-phpmailer.php on line 2171

PHPINFO shows the new memory value. Since I can do the update from within the Dashboard (built in WordPress function), I wonder, with respect, if the programming routines may be memory-use-optimizable, so that they could work with 128M? I'd fear, if I upgrade again, I'd receive the same error message?

    (Or did I blog too much :) ... ?!)

However, my question is partially answered, if you tell me your plugin is so modern that my configuration is just too old, I would probably believe you :) ... just that I may understand about what to do best.

Thank you again for helping my uninformed mind with your knowledge,

    Ka :)

Hi Ka, try and increase the memory limit to 256M. I have all my websites running with 256M and never loose a beat ;)

Always remember that you have WordPress, plugins and a Theme using memory. Each uses a different amount of memory and in different ways. Giving enough memory to play with will eliminate issues like the one you are seeing above now and in the future.

Also the new memory problem you are seeing above is not related to this plugin anymore.

Let me know if this helps you.

    Kind regards
